FAQ

Why are my Solar Magic Nail Polish colors different colors on different days?

Ultraviolet (UV) rays vary from day to day are dependent on location, too. Some days are much stronger and the color change is strong, while other days have a lower UV rating and the colors change less. Click here to check out UV information in your area.

When exposed to the sun, to the ultraviolet light (UV), this nail polish changes color! The change is dependent on the UV and the change is reversible.  When Solar Magic Nail Polish UV nail polish is removed from sunlight it returns to its original color!

How many coats of polish should I put on?

Solar Magic Nail Polish suggests two coats of polish for the best results, starting with a base coat to prepare the nail and then seal the polishes with a non-UV top coat.  We have top coats available that are UV light permeable.

What is the difference between ultraviolet (UV) light and thermal heat?

Thermal reacts to temperature, and changes color reacting to heat and cold. Ultraviolet is in sunlight and Solar Magic Nail Polish reacts to ultraviolet light.  It returns to the base color when the ultraviolet light is removed.

Depending on the UV light available the colors photographed may be slightly different when you use them.  Also notice they will vary in color each day because of variable UV light from the sun, variation from day to day and location to location.  White beaches have the best color change!

The photos online come as close as our photographer can get to the Solar Magic Nail Polish  colors.  It looks so much better on your nails!

These polishes are good with a base coat, two coats of color, and a top coat.  Experiment with different color combinations!  Play with mixing a solid color as a base adding a colored top coat – watch the colors changing to create a new color!

We suggest that you always finish your manicure with one of our great top coats.  If you use another top coat check to see if it allows ultraviolet light into the polish.  Our non-ultraviolet blocking top coat definitely does.
